The Church
of S. lorenzo

Piazza San Lorenzo 1
Gussago (BS)

The Church of S. Lorenzo was the ancient parish church of Gussago.
Located near the present parish church, it is preceded by a recently restored square with an elegant circular neoclassical fountain.
The white marble structure designed by Basiletti in 1849, sculpted in 1853 by Giovan Battista Lombardi, and decorated with festoons and vine leaves, bunches of grapes and Bacchic heads, recalls the area's winemaking tradition.

The church has a very simple gabled façade, with a cornice topped by a triangular tympanum.
After recent restoration work, the building is currently used as a venue for cultural meetings and events.
